Equine Recruitment

As a school leaver, I stood on the threshold of adulthood determined to build a career in the equine industry. My teachers and mentors were concerned that this was a pipe dream, and not a viable career pathway.

Fast forward 10 years I found myself somewhat at the top of my equestrian career. I could branch out, but there wasn’t really anywhere to progress to. I had worked in top level Dressage and Show Jumping, worked with Police Horse Trainers, Natural Horsemanship experts and “problem horse” specialists. I was now a Home Groom/Rider for an Olympic Event Rider. Like so many Grooms, I decided it was time to get into an office, and carve my way into a “proper” job.

Almost 11 years later, I have been fortunate enough to combine my interests and apply my skills and experience to my working life. In 2017 I assisted my long term friend and equestrian recruitment expert, Caroline Carter, in founding The Grooms List by Caroline Carter Recruitment, the no.1 equestrian recruitment agency in Europe – possibly beyond. Designing everything from the logo and branding to the website, I went on to explore employment law by writing blogs and articles for the company, and establishing myself as an experienced and knowledgeable recruitment consultant to the equestrian industry, “second in command” to Caroline.
