Applying your logo or slogan with embroidery and heat transfer
Getting your name, logo or slogan onto clothing and other items is usually straightforward if you choose the right company for your needs. Your design will need to be prepared for the process and supplied in an appropriate, high quality format in order to achieve the very best results. I can take care of your embroidery/printing procedure from logo/design preparation through to the finished result. Your prepared image file will be yours to take away and reuse as many times as you wish, with any embroidery/printing company. Supplying your design You will need to supply your logo/design to the embroidery company in a format suitable for a quality reproduction. A screen shot or photograph will usually be fine to obtain an initial quotation, but for the application a better quality image must be provided. Your chosen company will advise you on this, and I can produce the necessary file for you if you have nothing suitable already. Get in touch for a no obligation quote. Set up Whether your item is to be embroidered or heat transferred there will almost certainly be a one time set up fee to pay for your design to be “digitized” in preparation for the process. Your design will be digitally analysed and graph data added, so every stitch can be planned in order to achieve an accurate reproduction. This one time fee is usually around £25 – £35. Simple text designs may be cheaper to setup, larger or more complex designs may incur a surcharge. Every variation of your logo/design will require digitization, and will incur another set up fee. For example, if you have a logo/design suitable for the front of a garment, and a variation of it suitable for the reverse, this will require two set up fees. Some companies need to send your design away to be digitized, and they will be able to advise you on the time this will take, and the associated costs. Other companies will be able to do this themselves, reducing the time it takes and possibly the set up fee, too. The cost of the one time set up fee means you need to carefully consider which company you use for your embroidery/heat transfer – you will want to minimise the chance of having to pay the set up fee again by having to use a different company at any point in the future. Application There will be a fee per application of your logo/design. This may vary according to it’s size, or complexity – it depends on the company. Some companies will offer price variations according to the size of the application. There may be discounts available for larger orders. Application may take a few hours, days or even weeks. It depends on the individual company, if items need to be ordered in for you, and if a postal service is required to ship items back and forth. Not everything is suitable for embroidery/heat transfer, and a lot of embroidery companies will supply items for you. If they don’t display a range on their website they will provide a catalogue and price list. If you already own an item you know you can apply your design to, you’ll need to check if your chosen company is happy to do this at no additional cost. I work with a variety of reliable, experienced embroidery/heat transfer/screen printing companies who’re guaranteed to produce top quality results and value for money. I can take care of your embroidery/printing procedure from logo/design preparation through to the finished result. This may incur additional postage costs if you live outside of my area. Your prepared image file will be yours to take away and reuse as many times as you wish, with any embroidery/printing company. Why not consider: Just to name a few! All these personalised items require print design, to send your company name/personal design from a good idea to the real thing. © Fae Loudoun Photography In the age of the smartphone photography has never been more popular, with many of us carrying a digital camera, with substantial capabilities, in our pockets. Turn your photographs into greetings cards, with a personalised message inside, and your name and any other detail on the back. Whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, make unique cards to promote your brand, to sell, or simply for the pleasure of your friends and family. When photographing for a greetings card, bear in mind that your overall image must extend beyond the outside edges of the card. This prevents the risk of a white line appearing along the edge of your card, or losing the effect of your photograph by having to clip the edges. If you have an idea which isn’t mentioned here that you’d like to see in print, get in touch. I can advise you of the possibilities, process, and potential costs of making it happen. Printing, in all forms, is a specialist process. Not all print companies are the same and a one stop shop is a convenient, but rarely cost-effective solution. Print/production and the associated prices will depend on the type of product and the quantity you require. Some companies specialise in short print runs, some long print runs – it can be very expensive to choose the wrong company for your needs! I work with a variety of reliable, experienced printing firms who’re guaranteed to produce top quality results for the best price available. I can save you time and unnecessary expense by directing your finished design to the appropriate companies to produce the finished result.
